The Leon Recanati Institute for Maritime Studies would like to welcome its newest faculty member, Dr. David Friesem, into our ranks. David is an anthropological archaeologist who studies the human past by combining field archaeology, geoarchaeology, ethnography and social theory in order to study the often missing small-scale perspective of human-environment interactions.
