Mr. Zeev Margalit

Mr. Zeev Margalit graduated in Architecture and Urban Planning (cum laude) at the Haifa Technion. He then started work as a young architect in the office of architect David Yanai – T.A.M Architectural Planning and Research, in the Carmel, Haifa. He then proceeded to become a manager at an industrial construction company, and later a director of the conservation and development department and the chief architect at the Israel Nature and Parks Authority until his retirement in 2024. In 1995, he received his diploma from the ICCROM – Rome in the program for conservation architects, where he specialized in the conservation of heritage sites. Mr. Margalit continued studies and training various professional courses, conferences, professional forums in Israel and around the world, in the fields of heritage and landscape. He was also a lecturer and instructor at Tel Aviv University in the heritage conservation course and at the Haifa Technion in the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Architecture.
Mr. Margalit is involved in the fields of heritage conservation and landscape planning in national and international organizations. Today, he is a member of the steering team of the KEDEM Program, National program for social leadership in the field of heritage directed by the Ben Gurion University.
The main professional areas of interest are: architecture, landscape architecture, heritage preservation Conservation and development of heritage and nature sites for the public, history, archeology ,Interpretation, Theme planning and curation, integration of art in sites, nature, environment, ecology, introducing diverse uses to natural landscape and heritage sites, economic thinking, Leadership creativity and change management.
