Mia is a marine mammal’s researcher since 1994 and a research fellow. Currently, she is coordinating the monitoring of marine mammals in the north, the stranding network and Mediterranean Monk seal research. She has dealt with marine mammal’s research in her M.A thesis (contaminants as morbidity factor in marine mammals) and her dissertation on the food web in Akhziv submarine canyon and dolphins as its top predators. In addition, Mia also teaches marine sciences in the Israel Nautical College in Akko since 2001.
